Terms of Service

Last updated: July 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Threshold (the "Service"), which forwards and manages calls from your building's door intercom system. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What the Service does

Threshold provides a telephone number that your building's intercom can dial. The Service can forward those calls to phones you designate, automatically transmit the tone that instructs your intercom to unlock the door, and provide related features such as guest passes, scheduling, and activity notifications.

2. Important safety and reliability disclaimers

Threshold is a convenience product, not a security system or life-safety system. You acknowledge and agree that:

3. Your responsibilities

4. Billing and cancellation

The Service is billed as a monthly subscription at the price shown at signup, processed by Stripe. You may cancel at any time; service continues to the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may suspend service for non-payment.

5. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or abuse the Service. On termination, your Threshold number is released and calls to it will no longer be handled.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, OR ERROR-FREE.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THRESHOLD AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY, DENIED ENTRY, PROPERTY LOSS, OR PERSONAL INJURY — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Threshold and its operators from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party, including your building owner or manager.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Venue for any dispute lies in San Diego County, California.
